Original subject…well done. I have a few DIY art-efforts (which I think are good) but my partner keeps hiding them in a cupboard under the stairs.

We are all familiar with the term  “landscaping” where the visible features of your outdoor space are modified by arranging it in an aesthetically pleasing manner.   And now there is manscaping but we won’t go there. We’ve talked about tablescaping and mantelscaping in this blog.  So It’s high time we talked about “picturescaping”.

Most of us lack seriously large pieces of art that can “stand alone” on a wall so we need to put a collection of smaller pieces together.

Richard’s take on “picturescaping” is “don’t follow the formal how to’s…instead look for in-formal balance and scale”.   The old put everything in the same coloured frame and arrange in rows is easy peasy.  Sometimes it takes a trained eye, like Richard’s for instance, to help you put your framed and unframed treasures together to create meaningful impact in your room.
