Above is a picture of a space beneath a staircase that has been ingeniously converted into a cozy and intimate study. Beautiful.
While this makes use of otherwise useless space, it should be noted how the designer has continued with the pattern of horizontal lines from across the stairs into the book shelves thus achieving a pleasant blend that makes you almost forget you are under a staircase.
The horizontal lines does help to achieve a relaxed, cool  and informal way to read while taking your eyes across the books on the shelves. Definitely a fun way to read.
Also the pattern the floor tiles have, adds to the whole horizontal and grounded feel.
Now, the light’s low intensity and the colour used throughout helped achieve a feel of reading under a sunset. Its magic. Its like you are hiding away from the noise…
